Privacy Policy – Doc Scanner

Effective Date: 11-10-2025

Developer: LeafN Studio

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how information is collected and used by the Doc Scanner app. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This app does not collect or store personal data such as your name, email, or contact details.

2. Permissions Used

We do not access your other photos, videos, or personal files unless you explicitly choose to open/import them from storage within the app.

3. Data Collection & Storage

Local storage only: All scanned images, PDFs, and app-related metadata (such as scan history, document titles, and user preferences) are stored locally on your device. We use on-device libraries such as Room (for structured metadata) and DataStore Preferences (for settings) to manage local data. None of these files or metadata are uploaded to our servers by default.

No personal data collection: The app does not collect personally identifiable information (PII). Anonymous usage or crash reports may be collected only if you opt into analytics (if provided) and are handled according to the analytics provider's policy.

4. On-Device Processing

The app uses on-device processing libraries (for example, Google ML Kit's document/text recognition components) to detect document edges and recognize text. This processing happens locally on the device unless a specific cloud feature is added and you explicitly enable it.

5. Third-Party Services & SDKs

We use a small set of trusted third-party SDKs to provide core features and monetization. These SDKs may collect anonymous or device-level information according to their own privacy policies:

For details about how Google may handle data (including advertising IDs, IP addresses, or device info), please review Google's privacy pages: Google Privacy & Terms.

6. Advertising

If ads are enabled in the app, we use Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect device information (such as device model, OS version), Advertising ID (for ad personalization), and IP address in accordance with Google's policies. We do not share your personal files or scanned content with AdMob. To opt out of personalized ads, you may use device-level ad personalization controls.

7. Analytics & Crash Reports

We may use anonymous analytics or crash reporting tools to improve app stability and user experience. Any data collected is anonymous and is used only in aggregate to help fix issues and improve features.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date shown at the top of this document. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
